Matthew 12:15 And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.

 

The Benefit of Healing is one that comes with great controversy.  Many people, including Christians, say they do not believe in Divine Healing. The argument has been made that if everyone can be healed, then why don’t those gifted with Healing go into the hospitals and heal all the sick and send everyone out healed? 

 

The answer to this question lies in the spiritual state of the afflicted. Jesus healed ALL who FOLLOWED Him and believed in Him. The same is true today. So many people believe Jesus died for their sins and has forgiven them, but they do not believe the Holy Spirit has the Power to Heal. 

 

Personally, I find this to be a ridiculous argument. First of all, ALL things are possible through the Blood of Christ. Secondly, the Word of God clearly includes the Gift of Healing in the Spiritual Gifts described in 1 Corinthians 12:4-11. There are diversities of Gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of Administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of Operations, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:  for to one is given the Word of Wisdom through the Spirit, to another the Word of Knowledge through the same Spirit,  to another Faith by the same Spirit, to another Gifts of Healing by the same Spirit, to another the Working of Miracles, to another Prophecy, to another Discerning of Spirits, to another different kinds of Tongues, to another the Interpretation of Tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

 

The Holy Spirit distributes Spiritual Gifts as He wills. We cannot choose what Gift we want or go to school to learn to operate in a certain Gift. The Holy Spirit of God makes these decisions. It is our responsibility to accept the Gifts we have been blessed with and operate in them. 

 

Every Spiritual Gift listed above exists, or it wouldn’t be included in the Word of God. Why would God impart the Gift of Healing to people if Healing does not exist? 

 

Jesus said, And these signs will accompany those who believe: in My Name they will cast out demons; ...... they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover. (Mark 16:17-18)

 

The answer to our question today is all about Faith in Who Jesus is and What He did on the Cross. He said, And these signs will accompany those who believe:  He didn't say "might accompany" or "may accompany." He said WILL accompany. 

 

I love the little chorus that says, Only believe. Only believe. All things are possible if you only believe. When we CHOOSE to believe the Word of God and place our total faith in what Jesus did on our behalf on the Cross of Calvary, we can begin to walk in the Power of the Holy Spirit and operate in the Gifts we have been given. 

 

Belief in the Cross of Christ will.......... turn the tide  ...........in your life.
