The Finished Work

1 Peter 2:24 He Himself bore our sins in His Body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His Stripes you were healed.

To understand this single Passage of Scripture is to live in the fullness of what Jesus accomplished on the Cross for us; all of us; each one of us.

God created the human body which is extremely complex. Medical science knows only a fraction about how it all works but one thing that is commonly known is that blood is the source of life. Without blood, there is no life. Also, blood is a purifier. If you cut yourself, your own blood will cleanse the wound by flushing out the germs and foreign particles that, if left to remain, would cause infection. Human blood is both a cleansing agent and a life source. Jesus’ Precious Blood was the same.

About a week ago the Lord allowed me to see a powerful vision. It was the sight of Jesus chained to a whipping post and being beaten by the soldiers. His human flesh was ripped to shreds by the cat of nine tails and other weapons they used to punish Him. It was a horrible sight.

Then God showed me that every lash Jesus endured was for a specific purpose. I saw every stripe individually on His Body, and they each were named. Every sin and disease was individually named by a wound on Jesus’ Body. As His Precious Blood gushed out of the wound, that sin or disease was cleansed and healed once and for all for whosoever will choose to believe.

All sin and disease are the attack of the enemy. Jesus bore every sin and disease in His Body. No attack of the enemy (sin or disease) was left unaddressed, cleansed, and defeated that day. This is a powerful, life-changing vision if you can picture it in your mind and accept it for what it is: The Free Gift of God for YOU.

Whatever you struggle with, Jesus took a lash for it. His Blood gushed out and cleansed it. He bore your sin and conquered it there. He also bore your pain and suffering due to disease and infirmity, which is also the attack of the enemy.

Many people have wondered WHY He had to be beaten so badly. To nail Him to the Cross and crucify Him was one thing, but to beat Him beyond recognition and until all His Blood was drained from His Body is quite another.

This is why Jesus had to suffer the way He did; so that EVERY sin, disease, and demonic attack of the enemy could be addressed and defeated that day. Peter described it when he wrote, He Himself bore our sins in His Body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His Stripes you were healed. When Jesus spoke His final Words on earth and said, It is finished, His Work on earth was complete. The final Sacrifice had been made. Every sin and disease had been atoned for. The enemy was defeated. Hallelujah!

The Finished Work of Jesus changed the world. It will change yours too if you will only believe in what He accomplished that day.

This is the Gospel of Christ, and it will.............turn the tide
