Deuteronomy 20:1 When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.
Just as the Lord promised to be with Israel when they marched into war, He promises all believers. As Christians, we are children of God. We are His people, just as the Jews are His people. All born-again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ have been grafted in and are one and the same as the natural branches.
The great Apostle Paul wrote about this in the Eleventh Chapter of Romans, and a study of this will result in one's understanding of who they are in Christ. Our identity in Christ is of utmost importance if we are to live our lives in confidence. Therefore, as children of God, every Promise of God to the Israeli people is a Promise made to us as well. We can stand on each Promise and believe God to stand by them all.
Throughout history, believers have been at war against the enemy. God has never ceased to be with them and He is not about to change His position now. God has always been with His people, and He always will be. He said, “I am God and I change not.”
The enemy we face is fierce and has many names. Exactly like the account of the demoniac in the Fifth Chapter of Mark, the demons are many. Jesus spoke to the demon in the man and asked him, “What is your name?” And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” (Mark 5:9)
This single man had a legion of demons ministering to him. A legion is believed to be as many as 6,000. That is a lot of demons, and as a result, the man was out of his mind. In a case like this today, the person would be institutionalized for insanity. There are legions of demons attacking the people of the world today. Heading them up is the demonic spirit of antichrist. This demon HATES Christ and all He lived and died for. His goal is to keep people from the knowledge of the Truth of the Gospel and loving Christ.
This is the spirit operating today around the world, and it is fierce. We must never discount the enemy, but also, never discount the Power of God to defeat him! God is more than able if His people will place their trust in Him and call upon His Mighty Name. Jesus said, If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. (John 14:14)
Let us stand on the Promises of God for His people. We are His people, grafted in by our faith in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Knowing this, we also have been given this Promise of God: When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.
God is able to……..turn the tide
