1 Corinthians 9:24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.

 

God does not create losers. He creates winners. He created you to be a winner! Everything about God leads to a winning situation for every believer. Yes, that includes you!

 

We are all running the race called “life.” We can run it as a winner, or we can run like a loser and barely cross the finish line. As born-again believers in Christ, we are already winners! Jesus came that we may have abundant life here on earth! To live the abundant life is to know who you are in Christ and live every day as the winner God created you to be.

 

This does not mean you will not go through some tough times and storms of life. You will. We all do. What it means is that no matter how many times you fall or what comes your way, you are still a WINNER with Christ!

 

My husband, Jack, grew up in Southeastern Oklahoma, very poor. Their house had a dirt floor, no windows or insulation. They did not have electricity or plumbing. They ate what his dad caught or killed that day and what they grew in their garden. By the world’s standards, they were literally dirt poor.

 

But they weren’t poor! They were rich! They loved the Lord, and they knew God would provide for them and see them through whatever came their way. They had hope for their future. They worked hard and God rewarded them. They saw themselves as WINNERS because God created them to win.

 

He created you to win, too. Do you see yourself as a winner? Do you want to win? It is God who created you as a winner, and it is God who will lead you to victory but you have to WANT to overcome whatever it is that is holding you down. Victory is yours for the asking. Jesus said,  For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 

 

God will not drag you to the winner’s circle and give you a gold medal. You have to do your part, and it begins with WANTING to win.  Today is the day to see yourself as a winner and run the race like a winner! The great Apostle said it like this,  Run in such a way that you may obtain it. Run my friends and run like a winner because that's what you are!
