Matthew 18:19 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in Heaven."
As a follow-up to yesterday’s Morning Message, I would like to share with you what happened here one Friday evening. If you haven’t read yesterday’s message, go back and read it before you continue reading this.
A group of ladies was gathered at The Treehouse for a weekend retreat. There was a storm brewing, and the weather reporters put us under a tornado watch. Out of fear, some of the ladies decided not to come. Those who did come were gathered on the front porch. Some were on their phones to their loved ones, while others were just sitting on the rocking chairs, visiting with each other. I was in the house preparing to serve the evening meal to the group in the usual manner.
As supper time approached, the storm mounted, and all of a sudden, the tornado sirens sounded, and many cell phones blasted warnings to “take cover immediately.”
When I heard the sirens and the warnings, I knew this was the scheme of the enemy to rob these women of what the Lord wanted to do over the weekend. The alarm had sounded, but it was not an alarm to respond in fear. It was a call to act in faith! I simply went out on the front porch, got their attention, and announced that we would now begin marching around the Treehouse and praying in the Name of Jesus for the storm to turn away from this place and be still!
I told them that if they were afraid and wanted to, they could go to the school and get in the underground shelter, but we were NOT going to respond in fear but in Faith in the Name of Jesus Christ!
Some of the ladies immediately got up and joined our prayer march, while others continued talking on their phones. However, none went to the school and sought shelter.
Over the loud sound of the blaring sirens, we spoke to the storm in the Mighty Name of Jesus, commanding it to cease and be still. After one lap around the house, all the ladies had joined our Prayer March of Faith. We were now in total agreement, and within minutes the sirens quit. The storm had turned! The threat of the enemy was gone!
We went back inside and served supper according to plan, and the Holy Spirit moved in a mighty way in the lives of the women at the retreat. The enemy tried to rob them, but our response in Faith instead of fear opened the door for the Holy Spirit to operate in a mighty way!
I later learned from three separate eyewitnesses that they were outside in Caney watching the storm, and for no reason, it simply turned and went in a different direction! The storm never did touch down on the ground.
My friends, Faith in Jesus Christ will ALWAYS win out over fear. When we turn to Jesus and cast out all fear, we will take on Power, Love, and a Sound Mind. THEN we will watch the Lord do what only He can do! Hallelujah!
Faith in Him will........ turn the tide ........in your life.
Trusting Him alone, Doreen
