Repent Now

Habakkuk 2:1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what He will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

Habakkuk spends the entire first Chapter of his Book complaining to God about is happening to God’s people. His prayers are devoted to asking over and over again, Lord, how long must we endure this attack? I know you can do something. Why aren’t you doing it? Why are you allowing this to happen to us?

Everything that happens to us is either caused by God or allowed by God. But why? In most cases, it’s because we deserve it. The people in Habakkuk’s time deserved everything they got from the enemy. Sin was running rampant within God’s people, and at some point, God said, Enough is enough, and as He always does, He brought judgment.

Jews and the Body of Christ are experiencing the exact same thing today. We have sinned greatly against the Lord. We have not stood against the evil in our land. Rather, we have hidden in our churches and pretended we didn’t know what was going on.

America today is a spiritual shambles. As a nation, we couldn’t be farther from God and His Word. The average American couldn't care less what God thinks or what He can do. They know nothing of His Power to bring judgment and justice, and those who do know are preaching a watered-down version of the Word of God.

Well, the Church is now under attack like we have never seen before in our lifetime, and the truth is, we deserve it. We have stood by as millions of unborn babies have been murdered. God had a plan for every one of those people. We have watched as our television programming and other media have stooped to all-time lows and downright filth! People are killing each other in the streets of America.

Muslims are demanding that Sharia Law be observed in our land, where we have a Constitution based on the Word of God. Evil is everywhere, and the Church is doing what it has done for my entire lifetime…..praying weak prayers and patting each other on the back.

The problem in America is the exact same problem they had in the days of Habakkuk…...SIN. Sin is the problem, and repentance is the answer. Sin has always been the problem; nothing has changed. God is waiting. He has waited a long time.

He said If my people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14) God stands ready to forgive and heal our land, but few are willing to humble themselves, pray, seek His Face, and turn from their wicked ways. Turn from their wicked ways means, REPENT! Sin is the problem, and repentance is the answer. Always has been and always will be.

Judgement is coming, and it will begin in the house of the Lord. Peter made this clear in 1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the House of God:

Forgive us, Lord. We have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. Cause us to turn back to you in total humility and seek Your Face FIRST in our lives. Forgive us, God. Heal us, oh Lord. Release the Spirit of Repentance to flow across our land and cause your people to fall on their faces before you. Hear our prayer, oh Lord.

We know you can……..turn the tide

On my face,      Doreen
