Remedy For Sin

1 Corinthians 1:22-24 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ Crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the Power of God and the Wisdom of God.

Yesterday, we began a study on the 7th Chapter of the Book of Romans. In this Chapter, the Apostle Paul speaks of some sort of sin that plagued him even though he was saved, born again, filled with the Spirit, and called to be an Apostle.

Such is the case with many believers and they don’t understand why they can’t gain victory over that sin. The harder they try to not do it, the more they find themselves doing it. How can this be in the life of a believer?

Most Christians look at the degree of the sin. How bad is the sin? It’s not really that bad. After all, it’s not as bad as some other sin that so and so is doing. That is not the point. All sin is awful and it will grow if not stopped. But, how do you stop it? That is the question.

It’s natural to try to stop sinning by doing something for God. Some make a pledge to read ten chapters in the Bible every day. Others will promise to pray for one full hour every day. Many believe fasting will do it. All these things are good but they will not defeat the power of sin in your life. They just don’t work.

If we go back to the beginning we find that Adam and Eve had a perfect relationship with God. This continued until they sinned. Once they committed sin, they were separated from God. Sin (no matter how great or small) separates us from God.

God provided a remedy for sin. His Remedy was the Blood of His Son on the Cross of Calvary. Jesus shed His Blood so we can be Forgiven of our sins AND have Victory over the power of the Devil in our lives now. This is why Jesus said I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) Abundant Life is not a life of sin. It is a life lived in Victory over sin. It is a life Delivered from sin; set free from sin!

If you believe Jesus died on the Cross for your sins, then place your faith in His Finished Work at Calvary. His Blood paid the price for ALL sin. He didn’t suffer and die on the Cross so you can live a miserable life full of sin here on Earth and they go to Heaven when you die. How much sense does that make? None.

Jesus died so we can have Victory over the world, the flesh, and the devil. When we place our faith in all that He accomplished on the Cross, the Holy Spirit will go to work inside us to transform us. He will Deliver us from sin when we understand and BELIEVE that Jesus already defeated and disarmed all the demons.

If they are defeated and disarmed, how can they still have power over us? They can’t unless we allow them to. The only power Satan has over believers is what they allow him to have. Place your faith in Christ Crucified. It was there that Jesus defeated and disarmed the enemy. That faith will allow the Holy Spirit to do the Miraculous Work inside you and Deliver you from that nagging sin that has plagued you. Hallelujah!

This is why Paul said We preach Christ Crucified. (1 Corinthians 1:23)

Your faith in Christ Crucified will……….turn the tide……….in your life.

Hallelujah!         Doreen
