2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

 

In this single Passage of Scripture, the Word of God describes three Benefits in our Believer’s Benefit Package. They are: Power, Love, and a Sound Mind. 

 

For a few weeks, we have been discussing the wonderful Pasture of Plenty that is available to every born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Pasture is surrounded by a fence, and when we venture through the fence, we are met with the troubles of the world controlled by Satan himself.

 

When we dwell inside the Pasture of Plenty, the Holy Spirit leads our every thought, word, and action. Fear of any kind is NOT found in the Pasture of Plenty. This includes any and all forms of concern, worry, and anxiety. Call it what you want, it’s all fear. 

 

Consider this scenario. Everything is fine in the Pasture and life is good. Then, something on the other side of the fence gets our attention. We venture toward the fence, and the enemy immediately floods our minds with thoughts of worry about the situation. Anxiety builds within us, and before you know it, our head is through the fence, and we are totally consumed with fear. We have instantly become powerless, and our thought processes are no longer sound. 

 

What has just happened is an everyday occurrence in the life of most born-again believers. The spirit of fear will rob you of everything God has for you. These situations are traps set by the enemy to kill, steal, and destroy your faith. You CANNOT walk in faith and fear at the same time. You must choose to be fearful or faithful in every situation in your life. 

 

God is able to be everything you need in every situation. We either trust Him.....or we don’t. Faith or fear; which is it going to be in your life? If you want to have Power, Love, and a Sound Mind, you must choose Faith. Fear will rob you of all three. 

 

Through a situation, the enemy has attracted you to the fence. On the other side of the fence is fear. It’s a trap! Are you going to stick your head through the fence again and be trapped in fear? You don’t have to. You can say NO to the enemy, turn your back on the fence, and head straight to the Cross where Jesus said, Come to Me and I will give you Rest. There is no Rest in the state of fear, worry, and anxiety. 

 

God wants you to live every day with Power, Love, and a Sound Mind. Don’t be sucked in again and fall for the enemy’s evil scheme. Stay near the Cross and place your faith TOTALLY in what Jesus accomplished there for you. Whatever it is, trust God to solve it and take care of it. He is able! Live in a continuous state of Faith in Jesus Christ. In this state, you will find Rest, power, love, and a Sound Mind because fear is outside the fence and you are inside! 

 

Living in Faith will.........turn the tide...........in your life.
