2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
The moment a person accepts Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, they become a new creation! They pass through the Gate named Jesus and step into the Pasture of Plenty, where the Holy Spirit of God offers so many Benefits and Blessings to the believer that they cannot be counted.
If you are a born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, you remember that time and place when you made the decision to believe in Him. You may have known about Him prior to that time, but it was at that precise moment when your eternal destiny was changed, and you took on your new identity in Christ.
To live in that moment and continue being the new creation is to live your life “in Christ.” Everything about Jesus is good. He is the Shepherd of the Pasture. Our lives should be all about Him as we live every day in Christ.
The Cross of Christ is what brought you to Salvation and made you new. It is the same Cross of Christ that will keep you in this new condition and allow the Holy Spirit of God to continually mold you and shape you into the individual God can use in a greater way to build His Kingdom.
Anyone who does not want to live their life pleasing to God and be used by Him is (in my opinion) not saved. Once we get a taste of true Salvation and life inside the Pasture of Plenty, we want to stay there and be a part of what God is doing.
Some denominations teach that all a person has to do is walk down the aisle of a church and repeat a prayer to be saved, but I beg to differ. That is NOT what the Word of God says! It says we are to be in Christ and a new creation. We cannot continue living a life of sin outside the fence and claim to be a born-again Christian.
No person will ever reach a state of sinless perfection on earth, but that should be our goal because to live in Christ is to allow the Holy Spirit complete access to every nook and cranny of our entire being and WANT Him to change us and make us new. This is the process of sanctification, and the Holy Spirit of God is the one who does this mighty work in the life of every person who will allow Him access. This ONLY happens to those who choose to live IN CHRIST!
Only Christ can.......... turn the tide ..........in your life.
In Christ! Doreen
