Titus 3:5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His Mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

Everyone likes a clean house, but few like to do the cleaning. One of the greatest gifts one can ever receive is that of a permanent, 24/7, 365 day a year, housekeeper who lives on your premises but you never see them. Anytime a mess is made, the housekeeper immediately cleans it up. Your house remains continuously immaculate with everything in its proper place. In addition to the housekeeper working inside, there is a groundskeeper who works diligently to maintain the outside surroundings in perfect condition. There are no dead flowers or branches anywhere. Every fallen leaf is gathered before it hits the ground. The lawn is perfectly manicured all the time. Wow! Wouldn't that be wonderful?

Spiritually speaking, it is the Holy Spirit who does all the “clean-up” work in our lives. He does the washing, regeneration, and renewing. Without the Holy Spirit our, “temple” will remain the same old, dirty place it has been. We might look okay on the outside, but inside is a whole different story.

We can put on our “Christian face” on Sunday for an hour or two, but as soon as we are out of the church parking lot, we revert right back to our old worldly self.  Jesus said, You must be born again.

To be born again, one must place their total faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and allow the Holy Spirit of God to come in and take over. This is an absolute life-changing benefit for the Believer, but we have to allow the Housekeeper access to our entire house, and we must want the Gardener to prune the dead branches and pull the weeds.

The gift of a housekeeper and gardener is no good if you don’t let them on your property. The Holy Spirit is the Person for this job. He can do it. You cannot. All the good works in the world will never gain you anything, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His Mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, Let Him do what only He can do in your life. He stands ready to “clean house” IF you let Him in. What a Benefit! ! !

The Holy Spirit will.......... turn the tide ........in your life if you let Him inside.
