He Cares For You

1 Peter 5:6-7 Therefore humble yourselves under the Mighty Hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

I have been invited to more funerals in the past several months than I have been to in my entire life. One by one, my friends and family members are dying. It is in times like these that we come to understand just how important our Benefit of God's Companionship and Care really is.

Grief and loneliness are demonic spirits that rob us of our joy. Jesus told us in John 10:10 that, The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. He accomplishes this by convincing us that God is not there and does not care about us. Satan is a LIAR!

God IS there, and He DOES care about you. The Holy Spirit inspired Peter to write on this subject. He tells us to cast all our care upon Him, for He cares for you.  The literal translation of this phrase is, for you are His concern. When we understand the literal translation, it takes on quite a deeper meaning.

We can care about a lot of people, but when we say that a certain person is our concern, it’s far more personal. We care about all children in general, but our own children are our concern. They are ours to love, care for, provide for, and protect.

This is how God sees us. We are His concern. He loves us, cares for us, provides for us, and protects us constantly. He never leaves us or forgets about us. No matter what Satan throws our way, God is there for us if we will only turn to Him in humility and seek His Care.

When we understand that we cannot make it through this life on our own and that we need God’s Care, we become humble and weak in His Mighty Hands. This is what God is waiting for. The Word of God tells us that when we are weak, He is strong. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:10)

Human beings can work to gain physical and emotional strength, but when we come to that place where we understand that no matter how strong we may appear, we are weak and helpless, THEN we will see just how strong God is and how much He cares for us.

The Believer’s Benefit of Care is one we all need, but many choose to live without because to realize this Benefit, one must humble themselves before the Lord and declare themselves to be weak.

We do not become weak and helpless to be seen as martyrs, but we do it all for Christ’s sake. We become weak so the world can see how Strong and Powerful God is. Our weakness is to bring Glory to Christ. On the Cross, Jesus totally defeated Satan and every one of his demons. We are not able to do this, but we can live our lives as strong, victorious Christians knowing we are God’s concern and He is the strongest, most powerful force in the universe.

Therefore humble yourselves under the Mighty Hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. You are His concern!

Humbling yourself for Christ’s sake will..........turn the tide .........in your life.
