God's Ways

Isaiah 55:8 “For My Thoughts are not your thoughts. Nor are your ways My Ways,” says the Lord.

Your questions and concerns in regard to the Gift of Healing have prompted this Morning Message today. You asked, “Why didn’t God heal my brother, who was a Pastor and a strong believer?” “Why didn’t God heal my father, who served God every day?” “Why didn’t God heal my mother when we all prayed in agreement for her?"

The answer to all your questions is found in Isaiah 55:8 “For My Thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My Ways,” says the Lord. God’s Thoughts, Plans, and Ways are far superior to ours. God knows the future, and we must trust that His Plan (however hard it is for us at the moment) is better than ours.

Of course, we want our loved ones healed. We want God to answer our prayers, but we must consider the fact that God has something better planned. Whether it seems like it at times or not, His Plans for us are good. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the Plans I have for you” says the Lord. “Plans not to harm you but to bring you a future and a hope.”

My testimony is a perfect example of this. When my husband, Jack, was crushed under a giant cattle chute, I prayed for him to live and for God to heal him. But you see, God had a greater Plan for my life! He wanted to use me to facilitate this Ministry here in Caney, and if He had answered my prayer and healed Jack, none of this Ministry would exist today. The thousands of people (including you) who have come here would have never been ministered to here.

God had a Plan for Jack’s life, and He fulfilled that Plan. He has a Plan for my life, and I have surrendered to His Plan. We have to come to the place where we FULLY trust God and His Plan for our individual lives. It’s not easy; it’s hard. It’s heartbreaking sometimes, BUT when we surrender our lives to Him and His Plan for us, it will be good. His Plans are not meant to harm us but to bless us in ways we cannot even imagine.

Every time we ask, “Why didn’t God........” we are questioning Him instead of trusting Him. His Ways are not our ways. They are greater and better. We must learn to look past the current circumstances and TRUST that God has something planned that is far better than anything we could ever dream up!

Until we come to that place, we will wallow in grief and despair, which, by the way, is exactly where Satan wants us. We have been given the free will to choose in whom we will place our trust. I trust God and His Thoughts, Ways, and Plan for my life. How about you?

Fully trusting God will...........turn the tide ..........in your life.

Surrendered to His Plan,       Doreen
