Habakkuk 2:2-3 And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the Vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run who reads it. For the Vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
The year was 626 B.C. Habakkuk was a Prophet of God. The world was a spiritually broken place. Sin was running rampant everywhere. The enemy was in the camp, bringing death and destruction, and with every passing day, it got worse.
Habakkuk could not understand why God would allow such things to happen to His people. In his prayers, he complained continually to God. For the entire first Chapter of his Book, he complains and begs Go to bring it to an end. Sound familiar?
Finally, Habakkuk stopped complaining and decided to stand and watch, waiting on a Word from the Lord. I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what He will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. (Habakkuk 2:1)
Finally, the Lord answered and said, Write the Vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run who reads it. For the Vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
The Book of Habakkuk is the Vision God gave him. God’s answer was not only for Habakkuk, but for all people of all time. God’s answer to Habakkuk is for us today.
God told Habakkuk to write the Vision down in plain language so people could understand it. And then he said that he may run who reads it. God’s intention is for the reader of this Vision to “run with it.” Take it and share it with everyone you know.
For the Vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. In God’s time, this Vision will come to pass.
Prophesies of God do not speak to a single person for one specific time. This Prophecy speaks of the Second Coming of Christ, but it also pertains to other times in history, and also to any individual who has been praying for an answer for a long time. Eventually, God will take action. It may take time, but God’s Prophesy to Habakkuk will come to pass in your life, our nation, and the world.
God rewards our faith in Him. We must place our faith in Jesus Christ and the Word of God, knowing that every Prophesy written will absolutely come to pass. It may take more time. Until then, we continue to pray, seek God with our entire being, and trust in His Word.
Eventually, He will……..turn the tide
Waiting and trusting, Doreen
