Foolish Sheep

John 10:11-15 “I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep.  But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them.  The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. I am the Good Shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.  As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My Life for the sheep.”

In the above Passage of Scripture, Jesus describes Himself as the Good Shepherd who cares for every single sheep in the Pasture and is willing to lay down His Life for each one. We are the sheep in the Pasture of Plenty. Everything we need is there, and yet we wander toward the fence to see what is going on outside in the world.

Foolish sheep is what we are, but our Good Shepherd never stops looking for us and calling us back. Do you know the sound of the Good Shepherd’s Voice? Jesus said, I know My sheep, and am known by My own.

That still, small voice inside that says, “Don’t go there.” or “Stay away from those people.” How about, “Don’t do that.” or “Stop! You are about to make a BIG mistake.” This is the Voice of the Good Shepherd who loves you and cares about you. As you approach the “fence” He will call you back and try to stop you, but He will never force you to remain in the Pasture of Plenty.

Foolish sheep don’t listen to the Voice of the Good Shepherd. They are more intrigued by the world outside the fence, so they CHOOSE to ignore His Voice.

Sheep are some of the most stupid animals in all of God’s Creation. They will literally follow each other over a cliff to their death. Don’t be a stupid sheep. Listen for the Voice of the Good Shepherd and obey it. Stay inside the fence of His Pasture of Plenty. Allow Him to care for you. He laid down His Life for you because He loves you.

The Voice of the Good Shepherd will..........turn the tide ...........in your life.
