John 17:17 Sanctify them in the Truth; Your Word is Truth.
God’s Plan and Order for His Universe is not easy for those in the world to accept or understand. Some believe that their plan and ways are superior to God’s Way. Others even have the audacity to try to change that which God Almighty has set in place. They do everything they can to discredit God and His Plan and Order. These people can try all they want to, but they will never succeed because God is God and His Plan will never falter or be changed by mere human beings.
In the 17th Chapter of John, we read the longest of Jesus’ Prayers. In the 17th Verse, Jesus prayed to His Father, saying, Sanctify them in the Truth; Your Word is Truth. Jesus spoke this while praying for His Disciples. While some will insist that this part of His Prayer was only for the original Twelve Disciples, I strongly disagree.
Every born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ is a Disciple of Christ. Jesus said, Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (Matthew 19:28)
The Book of Acts makes many references to the word “disciple.” These Passages clearly state that all true Christians are Disciples. One example: Then the Word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith. (Acts 6:7)
As Jesus prayed for His Disciples He said, Sanctify them in the Truth; Your Word is Truth. If you are a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, this Prayer is for you.
The definition of SANCTIFY is to set apart, consecrate, and make holy. This is ONLY accomplished by the Truth, which Jesus clearly states is the Word of God. God’s Word is the Truth. God’s Word IS God in written form. When we read the Word of God, we are having a personal conversation with God.
Every Word is inspired by God to teach us His Plan and Order for every aspect of our lives and His entire Universe. All Scripture is given by Inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Some people don’t believe God speaks to them. Anyone who says this is not reading God’s Word on a daily basis. It is impossible to read the Word of God and not be spoken to by God. Every Word is True and will sanctify the reader who WILL be set apart from the world by the Holy Word of God.
When Jesus was tempted by Satan in the wilderness, He said, It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the Mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4) The Word of God is to be our sustenance and provision. We are to feed on it daily. Just as we eat food every day to nourish our bodies, God intends for us to daily feed on His Word to nourish and strengthen our souls and spirits.
This is God’s Plan and Order for all people. God loves every human being on earth. His Will is for all to be saved, born again, and spend eternity in Heaven with Him. If you are not hearing from God, I challenge you to spend some time EVERY DAY reading the Word of God. I GUARANTEE you, you WILL hear God speak to you.
God’s Word will...........turn the tide
Not just reading, but FEEDING! Doreen
