2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Fear is a demonic spirit that will rob you of the Power, Love, and the Sound Mind the Lord Jesus Christ died for you to have.
The great Apostle Paul was inspired by the Holy Spirit of God to instruct the believer on the subject of “How To Live A Life Pleasing To God” which should be the goal of every born-again Christian, and there is no place for fear in that lifestyle.
There is only one way to accomplish this, and although it may sound simple, it is not. Even the most mature Christians occasionally find themselves tempted by the world outside the fence that surrounds the Pasture of Plenty.
We have all heard that old saying about getting the stubborn donkey to move by dangling a carrot in front of his nose. Fear is often the carrot that Satan uses to distract us from the Cross, causing us to move toward the fence. Many situations that come up in our lives cause us to be concerned for ourselves or a loved one. That single seed of concern grows into worry and quickly matures into full-blown fear. At that point, we are living with our body in the Pasture of Plenty, but our head is outside the fence in search of a worldly solution. Sadly, many, if not most, Christians live in this condition.
Our eyes see the natural with all its problems, trials, and tribulations, and fear is the natural response. But the Word of God says we are to walk by faith, not by sight, which is the spiritual response. Therefore, we must seek God for a greater measure of faith to enable us to walk and operate totally trusting in Him and His ability to not only solve the problem but also faith to know He has a Plan that is far greater than ours, and that Plan is ALWAYS for good.
The moment we stick our head through the fence of the Pasture of Plenty and seek the world for help, we have turned our back on the Cross, which is our Source of EVERY Blessing and Benefit. In effect, we are declaring that what Christ accomplished on the Cross is not sufficient to see us through this particular circumstance. We all know that it is ridiculous, and yet, we do it over and over again.
To walk in faith, not by sight, is to dwell at the Cross of Christ, fully trusting in His Sacrifice for every single situation that arises in our lives. Nothing the devil can throw at us or do to us is greater than the Power of the Cross to defeat. NOTHING! Whatever the situation, our Faith in the Cross of Christ will bring Peace to our hearts in regard to that problem. Jesus said, Come to me and I will give you Rest.
Let me encourage you today to get your head out of the fence. I know the situation is causing you great distress, worry, and anxiety, but turn around and take that burden straight back to the Cross and give it to Jesus. He has already won the Victory for you! Every burden, great or small, can be left in the capable, Divine Hands of the Master, and you can rest assured He is at work on your behalf. Whatever it is.....give it up. Let it go. Let God have it. Then you can lie down in the tall, green grass of the Pasture of Plenty and REST!
The Cross of Christ will........... turn the tide...........in your life!
Resting, Doreen
