Isaiah 54:4-5 For you will forget the shame of your youth, and will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore. For your Maker is your husband, The Lord Almighty is His Name;
For those of you who have lost your spouse, this Message is for you.
The closest human relationship we have is with our spouse. God intended for man and woman to be married and spend their lives together. Marriage is His Design for the human race. That’s why it is so devastating when we lose our spouse. However, the Holy Spirit is our Comforter, and if we will accept the Lord at His Word, we can find joy in the midst of our sorrow and grief.
I would like to share with you how God used the Passage of Scripture noted above to bring great comfort to me after my husband, Jack, was killed.
Jack had not been gone too long, and I was at our Wednesday night Prayer Meeting and Fellowship at church. During the discussion, a gentleman happened to mention how he once told someone to just open the Bible and start reading it. He said, “Just open it and point to a Scripture and read it. It will be exactly what you need at that moment.”
The next morning, I was feeling pretty lonely. I remembered the words of the man the night before in church. I picked up my Bible and just opened it. I looked down at the page, and this Passage stood out as if it were in bold print: For you will forget the shame of your youth, and will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore. For your Maker is your husband, The Lord Almighty is His Name;
I had read this Passage many times before, but it was as if the Lord was saving it until I needed it. I wasn’t alone. I wasn’t without a husband. My Maker, the Lord Almighty, was my husband! That was almost twenty-three years ago, and I still remember it like it was yesterday, and He is still my husband today!
What a blessing! What a comfort! What Benefits! The Benefits of Comfort, Companionship, and Care. The Word of God is so powerful. All you have to do is open it.
The Benefits of God will ........... turn the tide..…......in your life.
In love with my Husband, Doreen
