The Glory Of His Presence

2 Chronicles 5:13-14 the House of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud; for the Glory of the Lord filled the House of God.

For the past two days, we have been discussing the beautiful Believer’s Benefit of the Glory of God. We determined, by Jesus’ Prayer in the 17th Chapter of John, that the purpose of the Glory of God is to unify the Body of Christ. Yesterday, we discussed being in the Presence of Jehovah or the Glory of God.

The Glory of God is the Awesome Presence of the Holy Spirit. Once we experience being in the Glory of God, we never want to be anywhere else. Nothing in this world compares with being in the Presence of God.

In 2 Chronicles 5:11-14 we read of an incident when the Glory of God fell on the Temple, and it was so powerful that the Priests could not stand to minister. When we read the entire account, we will discover the circumstances behind God sending His Mighty Presence.

And it came to pass when the priests came out of the Most Holy Place (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, without keeping to their divisions), and the Levites who were the singers, all those of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, stood at the east end of the altar, clothed in white linen, having cymbals, stringed instruments and harps, and with them one hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets—indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying: “For He is good, For His Mercy endures forever,” that the House, the House of the Lord, was filled with a Cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the Cloud; for the Glory of the Lord filled the House of God.

We need to get the picture of what took place to usher in the Glory of God.

1. The Priests sanctified themselves and did not keep to their divisions.
2. All the singers and musicians (although they were of different tribes and families) joined together.
3. 120 Priests joined them, playing trumpets.
4. They all worshiped together, “For He is good, For His Mercy endures forever.”

The common denominator is UNITY. The Priests set aside their differences and divisions. The singers, musicians, and Priests all joined together singing the same song and praised the Lord together in unison.

Read this again: indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying: “For He is good, For His Mercy endures forever,” that the House, the House of the Lord, was filled with a Cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the Cloud; for the Glory of the Lord filled the House of God.

The Glory of God will fall like a Cloud when the Body of Christ is in unity. The Presence of God is scarce today because the Church is so divided. Denominations and doctrines of man have divided the Church to such a degree, the Glory of God (the Presence of the Holy Spirit) is extremely rare. God can send His Presence anytime He wants to, but it’s clear by His Word, His desire for His Church is to be unified.

When we fast-forward through Scripture 1,000 years, we read Jesus’ Prayer: And the Glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

The Glory of God is a wonderful Benefit in our Believer’s Benefit Package. Jesus died that we may experience the Glory of God. If you have never experienced being in the Presence of the Holy Spirit, pray for the Lord God to forgive you and allow you to set aside all that brings division. Seek and love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.

I guarantee you, once you have experienced the Glory of God, you will never want to be anywhere else.

The Glory of God will……..turn the tide..........in your life.

Overcome by His Glory,      Doreen
